2010 Migration - After
After your mailbox is moved to Exchange 2010
After your mailbox is moved from our Exchange 2007 server systems to our Exchange 2010 server systems, Outlook 2007 should connect properly without any manual intervention.
If you followed the instructions in 2010Migration-Before and updated your Exchange proxy settings, and your Outlook connects properly after your mailbox is moved then you're done. If your Outlook won't connect, or you did not update the proxy settings ahead of time, instructions for updating Outlook settings are below.
Even if your Outlook appears to connect properly with a different or missing proxy configuration, for best results verify that your Exchange proxy settings match those shown below.
In the iPhone and other ActiveSync devices, the server name must be changed after your mailbox is moved. For screen shots and more detail, see iPhone Setup. From the iPhone's Home screen touch Settings then touch Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Touch the account name for your Webville account, then touch Account Info. Touch Server and change the server name from shelley5.webville.net to mail.webville.net
If you have Blackberry BES, it will update automatically. If you're using Blackberry BIS through Verizon or another provider, you need to update the Outlook Web Access URL to https://mail.webville.net/owa
If you have POP, SMTP or IMAP configurations, simply change the server name in your account configuration from shelley5.webville.net to mail.webville.net
Mac users with Entourage may need to download an update. Entourage 2008, Web Services Edition uses Exchange Web Services (EWS) to connect to Exchange server instead of WebDAV. It is compatible with Exchange 2007 and required for Exchange 2010. See our Mac kb page.
The instructions below are the same as shown in the kb article 2010Migration-Before. If you completed those steps prior to your mailbox being moved it is not necessary to repeat the process. This is provided for those who still need to complete this update.
Here are the steps to verify and update your Outlook configuration.
1. Close Outlook if it's open.
2. From the Start button, locate Control Panel and open it.
3. Find the Mail icon in Control Panel. In Windows 7 and Vista, the easy way is to type Mail in the search box at the upper right of the Control Panel window. See screen shot below.
4. Open the Mail icon. The Mail Setup dialog shown below will appear.
5. Click the Show Profiles button. The dialog shown below will appear.
6. If you have more than one Outlook profile, they will show up in a list here. The drop down near the bottom shows which profile Outlook is using. Select that profile in the list box above and click Properties. The Mail Setup dialog for that profile will appear.
7. Click the E-mail Accounts button, the Account Settings dialog for that profile will appear.
8. Verify that the E-mail tab is selected and that Microsoft Exchange is highlighted then click the Change button. The Change E-mail Account dialog shown below will appear.
9. Don't change the server name or user name on this page, just click More Settings. If you've removed the server name and you need to supply one, type mail.webville.net (it will update itself and change to the correct name later) then click the More Settings button. The Microsoft Exchange dialog shown below will appear.
10. On the Security tab, verify that Encrypt data between... is turned on. It is on by default in Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2007 but it is off by default in Outlook 2003 and must be chosen here or Outlook 2003 will fail to connect to Exchange 2010.
11. On the Connection tab, verify that the checkbox next to Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP is checked and click the Exchange Proxy Settings button. The Microsoft Exchange Proxy Settings dialog shown below will appear.

11. Verify that the settings in your Proxy Settings dialog box match those shown above in the screen shot and click OK.
12. Click OK again on the Microsoft Exchange dialog to return to the Change E-mail Account dialog shown above in step 8. Verify that both the server name and your user name are underlined. Click Next and Finish to return to Account Settings. Click to Close the Account Settings dialog, the Mail Setup dialog and Control Panel.
13. Restart Outlook.
If Outlook still fails to connect properly, create a new Outlook Profile from scratch. See Outlook Setup.
